A few years ago, I was in the market for a new car, and my neighbor mentioned that a friend of a friend was selling their used car. I took a look and a quick test drive and committed, even though I knew next-to-nothing about cars and my gut was telling me to beware. Long story short, a week later I found myself on the side of the road, waiting for a tow. Later, a mechanic told me that I had a blown engine that would require thousands of dollars in repair. This could have been avoided if I had done more research into the used car I was buying. Since then, I've done a lot of research into auto problems, and I take my car to my trusted mechanic regularly. This blog was born in hopes that someone else could be saved from my past stupidity.
